The Inventor ensures an indeformable connection between the balloon and the nacelle thanks to a triangulated funicular suspension. Lçacgé in Vincennes with fourteen people on board on April 2, 1872, the balloon landed near Noyon. The propeller makes it possible to reach the speed of 2 m 82 per second. The hold of the balloon and its stability are excellent, but the airworthiness of the aircraft remains poor.

Wanting to evoke through Tintin, the history of the means of transport, peoples, countries..., Hergé develops the Chromos project with the help of E.P. Jacobs.
The first images appeared in 1946 in the Tintin newspaper and the chromos can be obtained in exchange for Tintin stamps.
The project was initially broader and became the history of the means of transport.
The 300 existing chromos are signed Hergé and appear in 2 stages.
Firstly in collaboration with E.P.Jacobs appear the series AÉROSTATION and THE FER CHEMINS
Then in collaboration with J.Martin, the series L'AUTOMOBILE DES ORIGINES in 1900 was published. THE AVIATION WAR 1939-45,THE AVIATION ORIGINS TO 1914. THE NAVY OF ORIGINS TO 1700. THE NAVY FROM 1700 TO 1800
