Ernest Pallascio-Morin was born in Montreal on February 3, 1909.
In 1929 he joined the newspaper La Patrie as a reporter. He moved to Le Canada the following year, then to La Presse in 1931. He worked for Le Petit Journal from 1936, and then became editor-in-chief of the Photo Journal from 1940 to 1942. He served in the Second World War as an officer for the Naval Information Service, earning him various military decorations. He returned to La Patrie in 1945 and then joined radio station CKAC (Montreal), having served as a playwright and director from 1947 to 1959. He worked for Radio-Canada from 1959 to 1962.
In 1962 he was appointed director of external relations at the Ministère des Affaires culturelles du Québec, and in 1970 he became commissioner of languages for the Ministère de l'Éducation.
His literary work, especially his plays, earned him many decorations and mentions.
A prolific author, he has published more than thirty books. In 1992, he was made a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec.
Ernest Pallascio-Morin died in Montreal on February 26, 1998.
