The arrow sash (Métis sash, coureur des bois sash, arrow sash) is a piece of traditional 19th-century French-Canadian clothing. It is also part of the Métis heritage.
It was used by the coureurs des bois. In addition to identifying which region they came from, it could serve as a scarf for warmth or as rope for various uses.
The term "arrowed" comes from the arrow-shaped patterns woven into the fabric.
