Royal B. Hassrick (1917-1989) anthropologist, author and breeder studied Native American life by having, among other things, lived with the LAKOTAS.
He was curator of the South Indian Plain Museum. Deputy Director of the Indian Arts and Crafts Commission of the Colorado Ministry of the Interior (1952-54).
Curator of American Indian Art at the Denver Art Museum (1955-62)
He is the author of 11 books on the West and native Americans.
