Wright's Biscuits was a company founded in 1790 that manufactured ship biscuits. At the time of World War II, Wright employed about 300 people. When the market for ship cookies began to decline, Wright began marketing cookies to the general public. Wright's Biscuit closed in 1973, but the factory reopened as "Lowe" dog biscuits. It closed in 1983 and the factory was demolished.
