Bookseller, publisher and printer since 1875, Emmanuel Vitte (1849-1928) became in 1903 supplier of textbooks for Catholic schools and publisher of school books in the collection L'ÉCOLE LIBRE.
Wanting to be a classic bookseller, the Vitte house works with free schools, i.e. those that want to be the defenders of religious education.
A text, published in 1903, is indignant at the political will to separate church and state. As such, it is therefore incumbent upon Catholic publishers to make available to students and teachers classics imbued with the Christian spirit in order to nourish and develop religious feelings in children.
"My first little book" perfectly conveys this idea of education
