Bookseller, publisher and printer since 1875, Emmanuel Vitte (1849-1928) became in 1903 a supplier of textbooks to Catholic schools and publisher of school books in the L'ÉCOLE LIBRE collection.
Aiming to be a classic bookseller, the Vitte house works with independent schools, that is to say those which claim to be defenders of religious education.
A text published in 1903 protests the political will to separate church and state. As such, it is incumbent upon Catholic publishers to make classics imbued with the Christian spirit available to students and teachers in order to nourish and develop religious feelings in children.

"My First Little Book" perfectly conveys this idea of education.
