Frame and closure made of celluloid. The closure is of the purse style.
The two-button locking mechanism works well.
The celluloid strap or handle is of a chain-link style.

The interior is made of navy blue grosgrain style fabric with 2 pockets.
"The company was founded when Charles W. Whiting went to work for a chain manufacturing firm owned by Edward P. Davis. By 1907, Whiting was a partner in the firm, and the company manufactured mesh bags in silver, gold, and metal. In 1912, a process for machine-made mesh was developed, and Whiting and Davis purchased the patent."
The bag is in very good condition apart from a small manufacturing defect. One of the holes connecting the body of the bag to the frame is not drilled, but this does not affect the bag's sturdiness in any way (see photos).
