Kutani bowl and saucer set Meiji period (1868-1912).
Bird and peony decoration on tree in burnt orange, gold and dark green hues.
Golden partitioning on the ends.
Signed with 9 red characters printed under glaze for the bowl and saucer, with an additional blue mark incised under glaze for the saucer.
Late 19th early 20th century.
Slight shine at the base below the bowl (see photos).
Crack due to age on the edge of the saucer (see photos).
Bowl diameter at opening: 13 cm or 5 1/8 inches.
Bowl height: 6 cm or 2 1/4 inches.
Saucer diameter: 17.4 cm or 6 3/4 inches.
Saucer height: 4 cm or 1 1/2 inch.
I don't know if there was any sticking or swiping...but you can see that one of the lines extends all the way to the edge.
